The story

Every profit app on Shopify was missing Contribution Margin. We were tracking profit in a spreadsheet with 47 tabs and realized every other Shopify merchant was doing the same thing. We built the tool we wished existed.

Without Contribution Margin, you can't tell if your business model works at the unit economics level. You can't calculate meaningful POAS (Profit on Ad Spend). You can't separate pricing problems from fulfillment problems from marketing problems.

So we built a profit dashboard with four layers rather than two, separating pricing from fulfilment from marketing from overhead. And we obsess over getting the numbers right, because if the numbers aren't right, the decisions won't be either.
