Guide

Get your dashboard live in 10 minutes

⏱️ Estimated setup time: 10 minutes basic • 30 minutes with 100+ products

1

Install NetNet

Search the Shopify App Store and install the app.

  • Go to the Shopify App Store and search for 'NetNet'
  • Click Install and review the required permissions (orders read, products read, customers read, billing)
  • Approve permissions and log in with your Shopify admin account
  • You'll land on the dashboard — it starts empty until you configure costs
2

Historical Import

NetNet automatically syncs your last 90 days of orders.

  • NetNet automatically imports your last 90 days of orders via Shopify's GraphQL API
  • You'll see a progress indicator on the dashboard showing import status
  • This takes 1–5 minutes depending on order volume — no action needed from you
  • Once complete, you'll receive an email confirmation
3

Set COGS (Product Costs)

Two methods: manual entry or CSV import.

  • Go to the Costs tab → Product COGS
  • Method A: Manual entry — Click each product and enter the cost per unit
  • Method B: CSV import — Click 'Export CSV' to get a template, fill in SKU + cost_per_unit, then 'Import CSV'
  • The status badge shows your progress (e.g., '23/47 configured')
  • Products without COGS are flagged in amber on the dashboard — you can fix these anytime
4

Configure Shipping

Set a flat-rate fallback and per-country overrides.

  • Go to Costs → Shipping Costs
  • Set your default flat rate (e.g., $5 per order) as a fallback for unmapped regions
  • Add per-country overrides for your top 5 markets (e.g., $0 for Canada, $12 for Australia)
  • Check the 'Shipping Costs Guide' for detailed templates and best practices
  • Profit numbers update in real-time as you configure shipping rules
5

Connect Ad Accounts (Growth+ only)

Link Meta and Google via OAuth for automatic ad spend sync.

  • Growth plan and above: Go to Costs → Ad Spend
  • Click 'Connect Meta Business Account' or 'Connect Google Ads' — OAuth windows open
  • Authorize NetNet to read ad spend from your accounts (read-only, no permission to modify)
  • Historical ad spend syncs within 10 minutes; new spend updates daily at 8am UTC
  • Your POAS (Profit on Ad Spend) calculations are now live on the dashboard
6

Set Gateway Fees (Optional but Recommended)

Configure your payment processor rates for accurate profit.

  • Go to Costs → Gateway Fees
  • Enter your payment processor's rate (e.g., Stripe: 2.9% + $0.30)
  • If you use multiple processors, add each one with its % fee
  • Use the 'Test Fee Calculation' tool to verify accuracy against a real recent order
  • Gateway fees are now deducted from every order's profit calculation

✓ You're done

Your dashboard is now live. Every new order is processed in real-time via webhooks and contributes to your profit numbers.

Check back daily for profit updates, or set up email reports (Growth+ only) to get a daily P&L summary at 7am UTC.

What to check first

Products with missing COGS

Flagged in amber on the Products tab. Profit won't be calculated until every product has a cost.

Gateway fee accuracy

Use the 'Test Fee Calculation' tool in Costs → Gateway Fees. Run it against a real order to verify accuracy.

Per-country shipping rules

Check your top 5 markets in Costs → Shipping. Ensure each has the correct rates — fallback defaults may not be accurate.
